albany library foundation
The Albany Public Library Foundation was created to provide quality library services to all of Albany's citizens. Foundation funds are managed by an independent board of directors, which includes representation from groups with a particular interest in maintaining the Downtown Carnegie Library, as well as enhancing quality services throughout the library system.
Your contributions can be earmarked for one or more of the following funds:
Downtown Carnegie Library Endowment Fund
This fund was created to keep the Downtown Carnegie Library open so Albany's children and their children can enjoy its unique qualities as Albany residents have enjoyed them in the past. Contributions are invested but not spent. Only interest earnings will be used to preserve the Downtown Carnegie Library and its programs.
Downtown Carnegie Library Operating Fund
Although the Endowment Fund will help to keep the facility open, a building constructed in 1914 has many special needs. Contributions made to the Operating Fund addresses these needs.
Library Projects Fund
Remodeling and expansion projects, computer equipment, and furnishings have all been identified as current needs for both the Main and Downtown Carnegie Libraries. Gifts to this fund may be designated for a specific project or allocated by the Foundation Board to the area of greatest need.
General Library Services Fund
Contributions of $5, $10, $20, and $100 or more to support any library service, including buying a specific type of book or subscription, are always appreciated.
Please consider a donation to the Albany Public Library Foundation.
You can pick up a brochure at either Library.
