In 1941, the Friends of the Albany Public Library was established to provide funds for programs and equipment not covered by the City budget. As the services offered by the Library continue to increase, the support of the Friends becomes ever more important.

 

Tentative Schedule of FOL Events 2010~2011: all programs start at noon

Sept. 10 -- Mike Leckie - Sculptor of the "Girl Reading at APL"
Oct. 8 - Disaster Preparedness or How to Map Your Neighborhood - Linn Co. Sheriff Deputy
Nov. 12-13 ~ Book Sale
Dec. 10 - Jane Donovan and Readers Theater & Silver Tea
Jan. 14 - Book Club Jamboree - Sharing of book clubs in Albany area
Feb. 11 - Ed Loy - Albany author of book "Tim Burr", history of Timber Carnival
Mar. 11 - Birding/ Audubon Society
April 8 - P. Margolin Players - (author's day) play based on Margolin's books with mystery for audience to solve
May 13 - Roger Wendlick - "Shotgun on My Chest" or "Blood Secrets" book and slide show by Portland author/detective Rob Englert
