Marionette troupe & Dramatic storytelling
Every summer since 2001, students in grades 6 through 12 have joined the Albany Library Marionette Troupe to learn how to manipulate string puppets and to present a dramatic performance for children at the historic Downtown Carnegie Library. The 2009 Troupe performed Fairy Tale World on July 28 and 29.
Membership in the Troupe is free, with all materials furnished, but pre-registration is required and space is limited. Registration forms for the summer 2010 Troupe will be available in May 2010 in the Young Adult area at both branches of the Albany Public Library.
Performances are open to the public, free of charge.

Dramatic Storytelling
Students in third through 12th grades who are interested in dramatic storytelling are invited to join the Wonderkeepers Next Generation on the third Saturday of each month, September through May, in the Meeting Room of the Main Library at 2450 14th Avenue S.E. from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. Participants learn stories as they practice using voice, movement, costumes, and puppets to communicate with the audience. Wonderkeepers meetings are free of charge, new members are always welcome, and registration is not required. This group is cosponsored by the Library and the Wonderkeepers adult storytelling group. Members are often invited to participate in dramatic storytelling events throughout the region. For more information, call Doris Hicks, Young Adult Services Librarian, at 541- 791-0015, or e‑mail: doris.hicks@cityofalbany.net.
