CELEBRATE READING
Learn about insects, tortoises, and kinkajous. Put on a show with stringed puppets, help a child, and go swimming with friends. Enjoy watching a juggler, or learn to juggle yourself.
Grow your brain and have fun this summer at the Albany Public Library.
Kids of any age up to 12th grade may register and count the hours they read this summer, or the hours they listen to recordings of books, to win prizes, food coupons, and tickets to a Teen Night at the Albany Community Pool or an end-of-summer swimming party at COOL!
Learn something new from books or from a program at the Library. See live animals or mounted insects. Watch a juggler, or learn to juggle yourself. Play chess against a different opponent every month.
If you like to be on stage, you can sign up and display your talent at the Albany Idols VI Talent Show. Or, join the Marionette Troupe and spend a week rehearsing and performing with stringed puppets.
Make your community a better place by using your talents as a volunteer worker at the Library. Application forms are available at either Library or online at http://library.cityofalbany.net/ya/index.php.
Clean out your no-longer-needed toys and games and earn some money at our Parking Lot Sale.
Enter our weekly guessing contests for prizes.
Sign up to count your reading time at either Albany Library beginning June2, 2008.
